Tourists Funerals
- What happens if one dies abroad - do you repatriate the dead person - use a lead coffin, cremate and bring the ashes?
Logistics? Payment?
- Funeral flights (see also: Airlines):
Most airlines no longer offer discounts for funerals. I doubt that they’d start during what would be a financial crisis for them, Plus, as much as some may want to attend loved ones funerals:
a) there may not be any funerals;
b) airlines may have to shut down completely, either by force or by economic necessity;
c) people will think twice about flying during a pandemic no matter who the deceases may be. (Eg. I was thinking that if anything happend to my folks in FL, I’d drive before getting on a plane.)
- Travel to attend a funeral?
Will people travel for funerals or to see a dying parent/ child? Some of the travel will not just be for fun or school.
