NATIONAL REFERENCE LABORATORY OF INFLUENZA AND ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISEASES

The Laboratory, established in 1958, is a part of the WHO system. A bilateral exchange of information, methods and strains has been inplace since 1960. As Bulgaria’s reference laboratory, it leads in deciphering influenza and acute respiratory disease circulation in the country. The scientific trends in the laboratory activity comprise a development of rapid and highly effective methods for diagnostics of influenza and ARD viruses.
