A 30-year old woman from the Qaliubiya governorate became ill in early March 2006 and died March 17. H5N1 infection was confirmed. Another 30 year old woman, also from the Qaliubiya governorate became ill on March 12 2006. She died on March 21. H5N1 infection was confirmed.

A 32 year old man became ill on March 15 2006. H5N1 infection was confirmed. He recovered. A 17 year old boy from the Gharbiya governorate became ill on March 18 2006. H5N1 infection was confirmed. He recovered.

A 18 year old girl from the Kafr El-Sheikh governorate became ill in March 2006. H5N1 infection was confirmed.

A 6 year old girl from the Kafr El-Sheikh governorate became ill. H5N1 infection was confirmed. Her 1.5 year old sister became also became ill. H5N1 infection was confirmed.

A 18 year-old girl from the Minufiyah governorate became ill on March 29 2006. She died on April 6.

A 31 year old man from the Fayoum governorate became ill shortly after leaving Egypt for Jordan where he works. He was hospitalized in Jordan on March 30 2006. H5N1 infection was confirmed.

A 1.3 year old girl from the Sohaj governorate became ill. H5N1 infection was confirmed.

A 8 year old boy from the Qaliubiya governorate became ill. H5N1 infection was confirmed.

A 18 year old woman from Minufiyah governorate became ill on April 5 2006 and died of H5N1 influenza on April 14.

A 27 year old woman from Cairo was hospitalized on May 1 2006. She died on May 4.

A 75 year old woman from the Al Minya governated became ill on May 11 2006. She died of H5N1 influenza on May 18.

A 39 year old woman from the Gharbiya governorate became ill on September 30 2006. She died on October 30. H5N1 infection was confirmed.
