Wow! What a difference a week makes. This time last week I could barely keep track of all the H5N1 Human cases reported in Indonesia. This week there have been ZERO confirmed human cases reported anywhere.  Are there really no human BF cases right now or are they out there and just not being reported? Different people will have different theories regarding this issue.

Some people thought that the recent Indonesian human BF cases signaled the start of the pandemic. Other people pointed out that we may have many of these large human clusters coming and going over a period of time before any pandemic may start.  This is a good time for all of us to realize that we may go through numerous emotional ups and downs as we see surges of human BF cases and wonder, "Is this it?". For me, it helps to take these down times and think about the gaps in my planning and preparations so I don't feel so nervous when the human cases start pouring in.

I see some wonderful progress and hard work happening on numerous threads in our struggle with understanding this virus. Thank you to all who take the time to post your ideas, thoughts, and opinions.

The following is a summary of the few case reports posted on the news threads this past week. The June 12 News Reports thread can be found [[http://www.fluwikie2.com/pmwiki.php?n=Forum.NewsReportsJune11 | here.]]

Not sure if we could or should have a '''copy''' of Heather's great reports here, so that people can come to this page and print it out using the "print" button (upper right corner of the page you see right now).  That way we'd have something people can print and place on community news-boards etc.  A way to raise awareness regarding a moving challenge.  It means some extra work for Heather and helpers, but on the other hand it's a place where Heather can play around with the format and make sure it's right - a sandbox for Heather and a one-stop page for many.  This page would also need an updated link to [[http://www.fluwikie2.com/pmwiki.php?n=Forum.NewsReportsMay22|the current news discussion thread]], and maybe to previous threads as well.

Sorry about the idea, Heather - it's just because your report is terrific, and you wanted a map! :-)
