- October: An outbreak of H5N1 in wild crows was reported in Abidjan (Oct. 16 and OIE report).
Senegal
Kaolack Region
- January: The deaths of 150 white herons in 4 or 5 days were reported in the Guinguinéo region of Kaolack town; PCR tests for avian influenza were negative; bacteriological and toxicological tests are pending (Jan. 30).
South Africa
- October: Two possible outbreaks of H7N7 avian influenza were reported in Rustenburg in the central North West province and in Bon Accord in Gauteng (Oct. 25).
